This version of You're My Reason was from the audition that launched our recording work in the 1970s. Marilyn's wonderful voice and her feel for the song took us to another stage in our musical careers.
Lyrics
You're My Reason
When darkness leads my way
To where lonely devils play
When I'm lost and on my knees
I'm searching for a guiding light
To set me on my feet
The trees of night become by forest
The blinding sunrise is my weakness
Now I"m saying to you
Through darkness come and gone
You're my reason
You're my reason
You're my reason to carry on
When the silence of the morning
Just carries into the night
When I"m stranded without warning
And pictures of home
Are stolen from my sight
The strangers leaving pass by smiling
The lonely losers lie down crying
In this ocean of sand
I will turn to you, because
You're my reason
You're my reason
You're my reason to see it through
See it through
Standing softly by the window
Reaching into everything that you see
Lie your head down on my pillow
Set your mind down gradually
(Don't you know)
You're my reason
You're my reason
You're my reason for being me
You're my reason
You're my reason
You're my own sweet reason
For being me
For being me
